ISCO combines more than 50 years of experience in European refractory design and production technology, with a direct access to top grade Chinese raw materials. This unique combination allows us to design and produce tailor-made refractory solutions for our clients ever demanding production processes.
Our mine in the center of Liaoning Province in North-Eastern China is the largest privately owned magnesite mine in China. From the raw ore mined, we produce all types of fused magnesia in our own fusion plants. Directly attached to the raw material plant is the brick production facility, where we produce a wide range of magnesia carbon and alumina-magnesia carbon bricks.
This full vertical integration of the production process enables us to assure a seamless quality control process from the raw ore to the final product.
From a large range of magnesia carbon qualities, our refractory experts will select the most suitable lining concept for our clients unique production processes, in order to provide the most economic solution in terms of price/performance ratio.
The combination of a wide range of magnesia grades with different qualities and amounts of graphite added and a variety of additives such as Al and Si metal powders, MgO micro powder and others, leads to a broad pallet of final products.
The ISCO standard grade concept works with 9 different Magnesia grade combinations (ranging from 1, being standard dead burned magnesia DBM95, to 9, our top grade based on large crystal fused magnesia with an MgO content of over 98.5%.
We use graphite qualities from 94% to 98% carbon content and add them in quantities of 5% to 20% (weight-% of the brick).
If certain parameters of our customers processes require it, e.g. high oxidation potential, further additives may be indicated. These additives are typically metal powders. If a very high density is required, other additives such as micro powders may be added.
